I had a problem with my Kryptonite today, the key is not unlocking it, and the key actually just spins around in the barrel (Lock is about 2 moths old, so I am rather pissed about it). I need to cut it off my friends bike, and it isn't that hard, but I need an angle grinder, I was wondering if anyone had one before I go out and buy one. Anyone? Anyone had this problem with their bike lock? /Can't wait to give Kryptonite some of my choicest thoughts about the quality of their product. (1)

Well I finally found myself a Tandem. It's a Huffy Daisy and it's fantastic! Only problem is that it has solid foam tires which makes it feel like you're towing a VW behind. If someones got some somewhat slick 26" tires for cheap let me know, I'd rather not buy new ones for the beast. Thanks! PS. If anyone would like to borrow the thing let me know, it's way too cool to hog. (3)

Okay, I think my fries are burning, but i wanted to get this question out. I gave a kickstand to a friend today, forgetting that there are no instructions with the kickstand. This isn't a "normal" kickstand that fits right behind the pedals, well, because that would be too easy. This one fits back by where the wheel attaches. It seems incredibly crazy and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or had any idea what I was talking about..... Thanks! (2)

Anybody out there know of an individual or a bike shop that has a Crank cotter press? I've got a cottered crank and I want to overhaul it. Before I resort to heating it up with propane, I'd like to do it properly with a press. Help! (1)

With my 3 speed, I need to get the back cog and the front chainring changed out and upgraded to a more knee friendly set up. Any suggestions for front and back that works for Columbus? I know a lot is personal preference. I'll have B1 take a look as well when the wheels get rebuilt. (1)

I have an old road bike with the high pressure narrow tires. The sidewalls have seen better days and I already have their replacements in the garage. The problem is that we are going on vacation (with the bikes) tomorrow directly after work and I've let this, as well as several other things, go until the last minute. What is the usual result of sidewall failure in a tubed tire? Changing the front tire tonight wouldn't be a problem skill wise but changing the rear is a bit more tempermental with the chain, derailer, and getting it balanced. It's probably not a big deal for those of you who regularly change your tires but it's been several years since I've done it. Maybe I'll just take the tires with me in case it rains. Anyone know a good bike shop on the south Delaware seacoast? (7)

sooo... i've been thinking about fun things to do to/with my older road bike frame to make it a better bomb around town/lock up and not worry about/ ride in the winter bike. the first thing i think i'm going to do is officially join the thirdhand co-op (before i just gave a donation whenver i went in to have stuff done but they're getting all organized now), and take the bike totally apart to learn stuff. it is an old school steel frame, friction shifter from the mid-80s. but it works fairly well at the moment, so i'm thinking i'll put the bike mostly back together, put straight or bullhorn bars on it, but what i really am curious about is, can i put a new (newish at least, recent manufacture) mountain bike fork on my old road bike, to make it a bit more versatile? i have hybrid bike envy. Thanks to HandyBikes on 5th for giving me a set of brackets for mounting a rear rack on my commuter. Now I can use my panniers and carry my change of clothes and my lunch without a back pack so it's much more comfortable. (2)

I am wanting to install a rear rack on my commuter but I need a set of the loops that go around the wheel stays. I found a nice Blackburn rack at the thrift store but I need the brackets. If you have a pair please let me know if I can get them from you. (3)

so jen and i are in the midst of building a tall bike, and i think i need a little assistance. anyone here ever made one, been around anyone building one and such?? so i have 2 frames that i want to use, but i think i might have a slight problem. the top frame is considerably heavier than the bottom frame. how much of a problem will this cause us? i mean, when i put the wheels, a new fork and all the components on the bottom frame it should be close to the same weight, but im worried that its just going to be way to top heavy. also, any tips on how to get chains the length we will need for the drive train? any help on this would be sweet....
