Hi - I noticed several folks snapping pictures at the B2WW kickoff at the Statehouse and the Commuter Challenge ceremony by Nationwide Arena... has anyone posted pics someplace? Or planning to? Thanks!

BTWW Accolades and Feedback
Author: raamjeff :: Posted: Sun May 18, 2008 8:47 pm
I hope all are recovering from a great first Bike to Work Week! Consider Biking was honored to play a big part in this celebration...and hopefully, we've just scratched the surface of our potential for positive change in making Central Ohio a bike-friendly community.

I wanted to share this nice recognition from City Council. See below.

Secondly, I wanted to give a huge THANKS and shout-out to the many who made BTWW a success:

Austin Kocher for his vision and leadership of the majority of activities!

Meredith Joy - DITTO above! It's been a joy to work with these two individuals. They've brought such vitality to our work...and, I've learned a great deal from them in the past months!

Matt Young from Battelle who led our Commuter Challenge. Matt and Doug Morgan served as our Corporate Chairmen for this area of events...and, helped generate incredible enthusiasm from big companies...and, significant finincial donations which helped make some of our activities possible!

The remainder of the Consider Biking Board of Directors (Ira Weiss, Chris Luers, John Gideon, Catherine Girves, David Roseman & Kurt Lehmkuhl) who provided countless hours and significant expertise to cover an incredible amount of ground and activities over the past 10+ days.

I know there are more. Forgive me for not mentionining all now. Suffice it to say that your efforts have made a huge impact on Central Ohio. (For example, Brett Navin led several BTWW activities in Lancaster...and had their Mayor & Police Chief lead a BTWW ride!) I know we've accomplished something this past week. As I was walking to my downtown Farmers Market on Sat. morning...I overheard a couple talking about "bike everywhere week" and saw another gentleman wearing one of the plastic neon bike lapel pins we were handing out this week. Our movement is spreading. Cool

However, we're not done yet. Stay tuned for the 5th Annual Ride of Silence this coming Wed. evening at 7:00 pm. We'll post details on the home page. Also, we'll be standing beside Mayor Coleman again on Thursday as he helps Bicycling Magazine give away free bikes as part of their Biketown program.

We hope you'll share your stories and feedback from our Bike to Work Week activities. This past week exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to learning from the experience and building a better event next year.

Thanks to you all!

With so much going on, it'll be so hard to choose. I suppose that means you'll just have to do it all! Razz
