Jan 19th, 2010 | By Ira Weiss | Category: Events & Activities

Consider Biking is excited to partner with the City of Columbus and numerous other organizations to present a weekend festival from Friday, July 30 – Sunday August 1, 2010. We are excited to build a festival that brings together multiple bicycling endeavors, will focuses attention on the bicycling, and raise funds and resources for bicycling-related projects and efforts.

Our Festival Steering Committee is still working out the details and we’ll announce scheduling details in the coming weeks. This much we know – We’ll likely host a NIGHT Ride on Friday night to kick off the festival. You’ll not want to miss this festive event geared toward all bicyclists! On Saturday, we’ll host the Steve Barbour Memorial Tour which will include everything from family-friendly urban rides to a 200k challenge into Hocking County and back.

We’ll welcome the region’s top racers at the 5th annual Garrett Wonders Race. And, we’ll launch a unique bike swap meet and experience venue to showcase all the trinkets and gear that we bicyclists live for!

We have reserved McFerson Plaza in the heart of the Arena District as our headquarters for the Festival. We look forward to showcasing bicycling and our pedaling revolution in a new and exciting way in 2010. Stay tuned…..
