Save the Date! Bike Columbus Festival

Apr 1st, 2010 | By Ira Weiss | Category: Events & Activities

Consider Biking is excited to partner with the Mayor "Bikin’ MIke" Coleman, the City of Columbus, the Institute for Active Living and numerous other organizations to present a weekend festival on Friday, July 16 – Saturday, July 17, and Sunday August 1, 2010. We are excited to build a festival that brings together multiple bicycling endeavors, will focuses attention on the bicycling, and raise funds and resources for bicycling-related projects and efforts.

Our Festival Steering Committee is still working out the details and we’ll announce scheduling details in the coming weeks. This much we know – We’ll host the Mayor’s Twilight Tour on Friday night to kick off the festival. And, we’ll launch a unique bike swap meet and experience venue to showcase all the trinkets and gear that we bicyclists live for! You’ll not want to miss this festive event geared toward all bicyclists! On Saturday, we’ll host the Steve Barbour Memorial Tour which will include everything from family-friendly urban rides to a 200k challenge into Hocking County and back.

And, on Sunday, August 1st, we’ll welcome the region’s top racers at the 7th annual Garrett Wonders Race in downtown Columbus.

We look forward to showcasing bicycling and our pedaling revolution in a new and exciting way in 2010. Stay tuned…..

We’ll have a dedicated website for all the detailed information and registration proccess. www.bikecolumbusfestival.com
