Media Alert – Consider Biking reclaims parking space for bicycles!
Event: PARK(ing) Day, a global event originally created by Rebar, San Francisco art and design collective, where artists, activists, and citizens collaborate to temporarily transform parking spots into temporary, creative public spaces. Locally, MORPC, Get Green Columbus, COTA, the Institute for Active Living, and Consider Biking are among the organizations reclaiming parking spaces.

West side of High St., directly in front of Paradise Garage bike shop
Why: Consider Biking will demonstrate how many bicycles can fill a traditional parking space. This display will demonstrate the spacial efficiency of bicycle parking, and indicate why many small businesses across America, are making requests to their city administrations to convert automotive parking to bicycle-only parking. Additionally, Consider Biking representatives will be prepared to discuss support for the City of Columbus’ proposed revision to parking Codes that include requirements for bicycle parking.
