Bike Map Wins Award!
Oct 13th, 2009 | By Jeff Stephens | Category: Resources
We’re happy to report that the Bike Usability Map was awarded a blue ribbon 1st Place Award at the Ohio GIS Conference. This map project is a perfect example of our work in driving the appropriate partners to collaborate in meeting the needs of our constituency. We’re excited for the success of this project, and even more excited that the projected 3-year supply, has been gobbled up by bicyclists in 6 months! (Funny, we told ‘em so!) There’s a 2nd printing planned soon.
We’d like to extend special thanks to the City of Columbus, MId Ohio Regional Planning Commission, IDC Design, and COTA for taking great leadership and ownership in this project. And, most importantly, we’d like to thank all the bicyclists that provided "everyday experience" input on the usability ratings.
We created a map for cyclists…developed by cyclists. No wonder its award worthy, eh?
Maps available at most local specialty bike retailers and local libraries. Here’s a link to on-line maps. http://www.considerbiking.org/resources/maps/
