Friday, July 15: Mayor's Twilight Ride

A night to remember! Join Mayor Michael B. Coleman and sponsors American Electric Power and Trek for an evening of bicycling with a very important message: the Mayor's personal commitment to promoting bicycling as a means to active living in Columbus. Beginning at City Hall and ending at the after party on Gay Street, join us as we tour some of the cities gems; German Village, OSU campus, the Arena District, and some of our new or renovated parks.

  • The pre-ride festivities start at 6:00 pm; The ride departs at 7:30 pm; followed by the Gay St afterparty.  
  • 2 distance options: We're offering a 25 mile ride and a shorter 12 mile route which offers refreshments and entertainment upon return to Gay Street
  • Location: Columbus City Hall, 90 West Broad Street; Columbus, OH 43215

Saturday, July 16: Steve Barbour Memorial Tour

The Steve Barbour Memorial Challenge, presented by BikeSource, is a beautiful, fully supported bicycle tour that heads south to the wonder country of Hocking County. Choose from distances of 31, 62, 93 or 124 miles (we also have a shorter family option route) and enjoy a great ride, plus fun, food and entertainment at the end of your day. Best of all, this tour helps support the Columbus Outdoor Pursuits and Consider Biking Steve Barbour Memorial Fund, which promotes bike safety and education programs.

  • Tour Departure times vary based on distance, 7 am – 9 am

Sunday, July 17:  Family Fun Bike Fest

 

Bring the whole family and join the fun for the first annual Family Fun Bike Fest, a new addition to the BikeColumbus Festival.  Experience the joy of cycling and learn how biking can be a fun way to get the whole family moving.  Learn about the history and science of a bicycle and what forces are at work to make you go.  Share you artistic side and participate in the bike design contest.  Kids may participate in the Bike Safety Rodeo.  There will also be two events for kids to ride in: a short ride to Bicentennial Park and an eco-ride to the Grange Audubon Center.
